CARL JUNCTION, Mo. — Another tornado swept through Carl Junction which is about seven miles north of Joplin.
Joplin, which suffered a catastrophic twister that killed 161 people exactly eight years ago yesterday, missed a direct hit this time.
Briarbrook was one of the hardest hit areas there in Carl Junction.
Authorities have assessed damages and there are no reports of injuries or fatalities.
Briarbrook subdivision had significant damage to homes, as well as downed trees and power lines.
Deputies, highway patrol troopers, and city personnel continue going through the town to make sure everyone is safe.
The Red Cross will be providing emergency services to those who have been affected by the storms.
