Sunshine Today, Unsettled and Wet Pattern Ahead —
After rounds of showers Wednesday, today looks sunny and comfortable. Behind the cold front that brought us rain is dry and comfortable conditions with dew points in the 40’s and 50’s. Temperatures today will top off in the middle and upper 70’s with plenty of sunshine thanks to a high pressure that will sit right over us. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 50’s.
Friday, the high-pressure shifts east, humidity and moisture increase as well as the clouds. We’ll have mostly cloudy conditions, maybe a shower, through the day on Friday. Temperatures will top off in the upper 70’s. Friday will also be our transition day with a stalled front sagging into Central Missouri, the jet stream or path of storminess, setting up over the Ozarks and increasing Gulf moisture will set up a wet and unsettled few days. Overnight lows will only drop into the middle 60’s with shower chances increasing.
Saturday, there is a chance of storms early in the day that will give way to some sun and muggy conditions during the day. Temperatures will top off in the upper 80’s with overnight lows in the upper 60’s.
Sunday for Father’s Day, temperatures will top off in the lower to middle 80’s with a chance of storms. Overnight lows will drop into the middle 60’s.
Monday, temperatures will top off in the lower 80’s with a chance of storms through the day. Overnight lows will drop into the middle and upper 60’s.
We will keep the wet and stormy pattern into late week. Severe weather cannot be ruled out each day with hail and wind being the primary threats. Flooding will also be a big concern with already saturated soils and several inches of rain expected by the end of next week.
