After several weekends in a row that featured clouds, rain and cool temperatures, we’re finally in for some typical August weather.
Before we get to this weekend’s warmth, we’ve got a comfy cool night to look forward to. Skies will be clear and with dry air and high pressure building in, we’re setting up for a cool Friday morning with lows in the low 60s.
The comfortable morning will quickly warm up with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s Friday. Skies will remain mostly sunny.
A quick hitting round of scattered showers and thunderstorms will impact parts of the Ozarks Friday night. The rain should be moving out before sunrise Saturday with skies becoming mostly clear Saturday. Temperatures will be warm again Saturday afternoon with afternoon readings in the mid to upper 80s.
Sunday looks even hotter as mostly sunny skies warm temperatures to around 90°. This will be the first time in Springfield since the 3rd of the month! With the sunshine and warmth, folks will want to hit the lakes, where water temperatures are running in the upper 70s to mid 80s.
Weekend weather doesn’t look overly humid, but it will be by Monday. The hotter pattern will continue too with afternoon highs around 90°. The heat will come with partly cloudy skies and a few isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms. All in all, pretty much what you would expect, and pretty good for people that want to see Monday’s total solar eclipse which starts at 11:44 am and ends at 2:41 pm.
Tuesday looks hot and humid with an increasing chance for storms by Tuesday night. A front will push through by Wednesday morning with another round of more comfortable conditions Wednesday night into Thursday.
