Three Inmates Escape, Two In Custody, Police Still Searching for One

SHARP COUNTY, Ark. (KARK) – UPDATE: Two of the three inmates who escaped Sharp County Jail have been apprehended.

Christopher Frey and Robert Pollard were located and apprehended. The search for Randall Sledge remains in place.

UPDATE: Two escapees were spotted by the Arkansas State Police at Horseshoe Bend in a stolen vehicle, according to Areawide Media.

Areawide Media reports that the officer chased the vehicle before it wrecked. At least two suspects bailed out of the vehicle and fled. 

The ADC, Sharp County Sheriff’s Department, ASP and Izard County Sheriff’s Department are searching the area.


Three men have escaped from the Sharp County Jail in Ash Flat. State agencies have been called to help search for the missing inmates.

According to KARK in Little Rock, the inmates, who escaped Wednesday, have been identified as Randall Sledge, 31; Christopher Frey, 25 and Robert Pollard, 18.

According to a Sharp County Sheriff’s Office news release, the escape was discovered around 7:30 during morning jail checks.

Frey reportedly has known connections around Horseshoe Bend and Sledge is from the Conway area. 

The direction in which they are traveling is not yet known. 

They escaped wearing county-issued clothing but it is also unknown if they are still wearing those clothes.
