SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Electric line crews have been out all night restoring power in a number of counties.

Strong winds knocked down lines and trees, leaving many in the dark for most of Thursday evening into Friday morning.

As of 2:00 a.m., City Utilities still had linemen working to get the power back on.  The outages affected nearly the entire city.   See an updated map of outages here

And the Missouri Electric Cooperative, which represents Missouri’s 47 electric co-ops, was also showing outages, although the number of customers affected had fallen by 2:00 a.m.
