Tennessee introduces Kellie Harper

News

KNOXVILLE, Tenn–The University of Tennessee introduced its new womens basketball coach Tuesday afternoon in Knoxville.

And it’s a familiar face to Lady Bears fans around the Ozarks, Kellie Harper.

24 hours after signing Harper to a new five year contract, Tennessee Athletics Director Phillip Fulmer introduced Kellie Harper to the Lady Vols fans.

But they know all about Kellie Jolly who led Tennessee to three consecutive national championships under Pat Summitt.

And Pat Summitt was definitely top of mind.

“I also hope that Pat Summitt is smiling down today.  I think about her often.  I know that it’s going to become more frequently here for awhile.  It’s important to say I’m not Pat Summitt.  I’m here to be Kellie who learned from Pat Summitt.  So I do understand the gravity of this position.  And I’m humbled, I’m honored and I’m ready,” said Harper.
