Teenager Ejected, Killed During Car Crash

JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — A 17-year-old died yesterday around 9:20 p.m. due to a car crash three miles north of Sarcoxie.

Brett Bruenn was a passenger in a 2010 Honda Insight with a 16-year-old girl as the driver.

The car went off the left side of the roadway on Route U and overturned, ejecting Bruenn.

Bruenn was not wearing his seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was taken to Mercy Hospital of Joplin with minor injuries.

This is Troop D’s 127 fatality for 2018.
