Suspect Arrested for Thayer Man’s Death


SEYMOUR, Mo. – A man has been arrested in connection to the death of a Thayer man.

Shelby Couch, 41 of Thayer, was arrested in Seymour on Friday night.

On Friday night, Seymour Police were notified that Walter Earls’ vehicle had been located in Seymour. Investigators from Oregon County Sheriff’s Office and Highway Patrol traveled to Seymour.

The vehicle was recovered and Couch was taken into custody.

Couch has been charged with second degree murder, first degree robbery, armed criminal action and tampering with a motor vehicle. Couch is being held in Oregon County Jail on $1 million bail.
