Study: Millennials Are Generation Most Likely to Use Libraries

News

DENVER — A new Pew research study reveals millennials are the generation most likely to use public libraries.

The study says a city with a public library system that offers not only books, but social events too, will attract more young people.

The study shows that 53 percent of people aging from 18 to 35 have been to a library in the last 12 months.

That’s compared to 45 percent of Generation X and 43 percent of baby boomers. The Denver Public Library says it’s seen an uptick in millennials.

“They`re a way that your city takes care of the foundation of knowledge within the community,” Shep Austad said.
