Students at Eight SPS Elementary Schools are now Eligible to Ride the Bus

Make It Count

SPRINGFIELD, Mo- 160 elementary students from eight Springfield Public Schools are now eligible to ride the bus.

As SPS says it’s a move toward increasing safety.

The change primarily impacts about 150 students who attend Disney Elementary School and live south of republic road.
Elementary and middle school students who live 1.5 miles or more from school are eligible to ride the bus.

But now, if they live closer than that in areas where they must cross a barrier street to get to school, SPS will also provide them with free transportation.
Affected students have been notified by the transportation department.
