Stoutland Woman Killed in House Fire

STOUTLAND, Mo. – A fire that was raging for hours left on dead in Stoutland, Missouri the morning of Jan. 11.

Crews responded at around 6:30 am, and the woman was found inside, Fire Chief James Vaughn said. 

Multiple agencies responded to the fire, including Stoutland, Sleeper, and Tri-County Fire. 

The woman has been identified as Marchetta Vassy. 

The cause of the fire is currently unknown. A fire marshal was called to investigate.
