State Auditor Announces 21 Whistleblowers Say Greene County Misused Public Funds

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A spokesperson for the Missouri state auditor says there are now 21 whistleblowers who have come out against Greene County officials.

The county is under investigation for allegations that leaders misused public money to advocate for a tax measure.

The number of whistleblowers has been steadily growing for a month now.

We don’t know what they’re saying about the county, but a lawsuit from Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott is challenging Auditor Nicole Galloway for the information.

The Springfield News-Leader reports the auditor’s office has offered a draft summary of the allegations for Arnott’s attorney to review.
