Springfield’s hospitals participate in statewide Ebola drill

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– CoxHealth and Mercy will be joining together to practice the protocols in case of an Ebola patient. 

The statewide drill will be held on Wednesday, May 29. 

The drill will help medical teams practice protocols they would have for a suspected Ebola patient. The training would shoe medical staff how to protect themselves and the public from the potential spread of the disease.

It’s in partnership with the State Department Of Health And Senior Services he hospitals will test protocols for how to keep a suspected Ebola patient isolated.They will also be shown the proper way to transport an Ebola patient to the correct facilities for treatment safely. 

Two individuals for the National Ebola training Education Center will be on hand to help with the training. 

State lawmakers are invited to observe.

The drill begins at 9 a.m. and ends by 11 a.m
