Springfield Shoppers Take on Black Friday

News

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Friday morning, our crews caught up with shoppers at Bass Pro Shops And Academy Sports.

Bill Shinn was one of those shoppers. He was taking a break while his wife stocked up on deals.

“Yeah we went to Tanger and then we came here and stood in line and got cold and finally they opened the doors,” Shinn said. “Sure ready to get something to eat and a cup of coffee.”

Some of the deals Bass Pro advertised that convinced these shoppers to get up early this morning included deals on clothes, like coats and vests, as well as low prices on firearms and gadgets.

Our cameras were at Academy Sports when the store opened to customers this morning.

You can see the crowd streaming in.

Shopper Nicole Stander tells us Black Friday shopping is a family tradition.

“My family, my sister in law and my mom and I, we’ve been out for like the last five years,” Stander said. “We just like to go out and get the deals. We definitely mark all the ads and know what we want when we walk in here.”

Some of those doorbusters Academy offered this morning included savings on a trampoline, a meat smoker, coats, pajamas and stocking stuffers.
