Before the first day of classes Aug. 15, Springfield Public Schools is hoping to hire at least 50 employees.
To accomplish that task, the district is hosting its largest open job fair of the year for bus drivers, cafeteria workers, custodians and maintenance staff.
“Everything we do in every position we have in the district is centered around students. People come to our district because they want to work with children,” said Penney Rector, chief human resources officer for the 25,000-student district. “…All of our team members have a role in helping to grow that next generation.”
The job fair is 1-4 p.m. Tuesday at the Kraft Administrative Center, 1359 E. St. Louis St. Individuals who are not able to attend can apply online at www.spsjobs.org.
