SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A few Springfield police officers are battling against each other and you can watch it all on a video that was released today.
The department has created its own lip sync challenge video and KOLR10 has some behind the scenes footage.
After law enforcement agencies across the nation made similar videos, officers say there’s been some pressure at home from friends, family members and the community asking the Springfield Police Department to join in on the fun.
So they did it. Their theme: The Battle of the Sexes.
12 officers – seven guys and five women participated.
What was supposed to be a one-hour project, took about four hours. There’s no need to worry about your safety nor your tax dollars; the officers in this dance crew were off duty and off the clock.
Officer Tim Sisco was part of the dance crew and says it’s all about humanizing the badge.
“Watching something like this, you can see that they are actually human beings doing a tough job and we still have fun,” he said. “Even though we are serious when we are on a call and stuff like that.”
He thinks the guys won this one.
