Springfield Pharmacist Indicted in Fatal Crash

OZARK, Mo. — A grand jury in Christian County has returned an indictment for manslaughter against a prominent Springfield pharmacist, in connection with a traffic crash that killed a man from Texas this summer.

The jury returned the indictment of 2nd degree involuntary manslaughter against Gary Woodward Grove, 65, of Rogersville.  

The crash on June 11 on Selmore Road south of Ozark killed Julien Wayne, 44, of Fort Worth, Texas.

Wayne was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound, when Grove’s Cadillac crossed the center line and hit the motorcycle. Highway Patrol report here

The indictment, returned October 27, accuses Grove of being criminally negligent because he was on the wrong side of the road and speeding.

An arraignment is scheduled Thursday morning (11/16)  in Christian County Circuit Court.
