SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Police in Springfield are looking for the driver of a vehicle that hit and seriously injured a pedestrian Monday morning, then drove away.
Springfield police spokesperson Lisa Cox says Jeremy Huggins, 26, was hit about 8:09 a.m. near Norton Road and Fremont.
In an email to KOLR10 News, Cox said “Huggins was walking on the northside sidewalk and both dogs were leashed. At approximately 8:09, a vehicle going westbound left the roadway to the right and struck Huggins. It then left the scene.”
Huggins was seriously injured and one of the dogs was killed, Cox said.
Cox asks if anyone saw anything or might have any information about the suspect or suspect vehicle, they are urged to call 864-1810.
