Springfield Man Accused of Killing a Nixa Woman to be Arraigned

SPRINGFIELD, Mo- A Springfield man accused of killing a Nixa woman after he fled from police is expected to be arraigned in court Friday.

54-year-old Tommy Morris Jr. is charged with second-degree murder, attempt to deliver a controlled substance and possession.     

The accident occurred in April after Morris struck an elderly man in a parking lot.

Police pursued Morris but lost him during the chase. 
    
He was later arrested after he hit Dana Sowards’ car at the intersection of Mount Vernon and Scenic Avenue.
