Sick Kentucky boy gets free trip to Missouri

News

BRANSON, Mo — A boy from Kentucky, born with a rare genetic condition, was gifted a free a trip to Southwest Missouri.

Cody Dorman, 12, is missing part of the fourth chromosome, which leaves him without a voice.

Last week, Cody made a trip to both Springfield and the Branson area, to explore Wonders of Wildlife and Big Cedar Lodge.

Cody picked out the location himself thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. His dad, Kelly, talked about some of the touching moments of the trip.

“They do a sunset ceremony every night and they shoot a big cannon, played bagpipes and stuff and they dedicated that to him Tuesday,” Kelly said.

“Tears were flowing. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place.”

Cody’s family said he didn’t sleep for two days because he was so excited for this trip of a lifetime.
