Shoji Tabuchi Theater Remains Closed, Expect to Open in Mid-July

BRANSON, Mo — The Shoji Tabuchi Theater will remain closed while they are repairing and cleaning up after a fire broke out backstage earlier this week.

The recent statement made by the Tabuchi family said that they hope to be re-open in the middle of July. All shows will remain on schedule when they re-open. They ask the public to respect their privacy and if you have questions to please ask the management staff.

Fire crews in and around Branson spent over three hours battling a fire at the Shoji Tabuchi Theater. 

According to Branson Fire Chief Ted Martin, a fire broke out after 2 this morning at the Shoji Tabuchi theater.

The fire was backstage near an exterior door in an area with a lot of electrical equipment. Crews saw heavy smoke and flames in the back of the building. 

Aggressive fire attack was made and the fire was extinguished quickly. Crews remained on scene for 3 and a half hours overhauling and ventilating the building. 

There is smoke damage throughout the entire building, but no one was hurt.
