HOLLISTER, Mo. — Storms toppled trees and left debris in the streets in Stone and Taney counties.
B&L Outdoor Power Equipment in Hollister sustained heavy damage as seen in the video above.
Storms hit the area around 4:00 this afternoon. The winds blew over walls, damaged the roof, and sent pieces of the building flying. The building’s owner is also dealing with water damage.
Emergency crews had to respond to the area to take care of a gas leak.
KOLR10 spoke with Larry Verjaska. He owns two buildings that were badly damaged in Saturday’s storms.
“We just live on the other side of town, and we got nothing but a little bit of wind over there. Nothing else, and when my son called me, I just couldn’t believe it.” said Vejraska. “The gas company come down and got us taken care of and the Western Taney fire did a hell of a job getting us taken care of here. It went pretty good, went pretty smooth. Just have to put the buildings back together and then go from there and see what we’re gonna do.”
He tells us the walls and roof were damaged, but most of the equipment inside the buildings was not.
