WRIGHT COUNTY, Mo. — Staffers at four area county jails have confirmed they have taken in more than 20 prisoners from the Wright County Jail where Sheriff Glenn Adler has closed the facility after the air conditioning broke down.
Jailers at Webster, Texas, Ozark, and Howell counties confirmed to KOLR10 that they were temporarily housing inmates from Wright County.
Each was housing between three and eleven prisoners. Douglas County Jail also holds Wright County inmates, but those were overflow holds in custody before the AC went down in Wright County, a dispatcher said.
A dispatcher in Wright County confirmed that the jail was closed after the AC went out, but more information could not be confirmed until Adler is available for comment.
