Salvation Army Seeking Volunteers for Emergency Disaster Training

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Salvation Army in Springfield is seeking volunteers who are willing to be trained for Emergency Disaster Services.

On Saturday September 30, 2017, the Salvation Army will be offering a Disaster Food Service and Canteen Operations course at their main office at 1707 West Chestnut Expressway.

Prior to the classroom course, volunteers will need to go register on the Salvation Army website. It is ideal for volunteers to complete the Introduction to EDS portion prior to Saturday.

The course is designed as the starting point for any disaster worker who wishes to be a part of disaster food operations. Additional information will be available at the training including additional volunteer opportunities for local weather related emergencies.

The training will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday and end at 5 p.m. For more information call 417-862-5509.
