REPUBLIC, Mo. – The Republic School District is saying that a middle school student brought a firearm to school today.

The message was sent out to employee’s and families saying no threat was made and there was no indication of violence. 

The school district says the student told classmates who then reported it to school administrators. They immediately began to investigate the situation and involved the Republic Police Department and the student was removed from school.

Teachers at both the middle and high school’s will be talking to students tomorrow about the importance of everyone’s responsibility to keep everyone safe at school.
