In Arkansas — people gathered from across the south and midwest for the mid-America Aerospace and Defense Summit.
At the event, they discussed our region’s strong presence in the aviation markets, aerospace and also the growth potential.
Some of the leading aerospace and defense companies like Dassault Falcon Jet, Lockheed Martin, and Southwest Airlines provided learning sessions, presentations and exhibitions.
Lieutenant Governor Tim Griffin traveled from Little Rock to discuss the importance of aerospace to our region.
“Aerospace is our number one export from Arkansas outside the country,” Griffin said. “There are a lot of folks in Arkansas who’s lively hood depends on aerospace and defense industry.”
Arkansas along with Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas are leaders in aerospace and aviation parts and services and has provided more than 430,000 jobs and $15 billion in aerospace and defense exports.
