Ban of carrying concealed weapons on Missouri university upheld

Regional News

Mo. — A federal judge has ruled to uphold a ban of carrying concealed weapons on that state’s biggest university.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt had argued that a ban at the University of Missouri would violate the state constitution.

Judge Jeff Harris says the ban will support the university’s interest in promoting safety for its students.

The attorney general’s office has declined to comment on the ruling and has not decided if they will appeal the decision
