Attempt to end Confederate Flag Day in Arkansas fails

Regional News

Ark. — A proposal to end Confederate Flag Day in Arkansas failed before the Senate agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee on Monday, April 26.

The day is observed on the Saturday before Easter, and the proposal was approved by the House earlier in April.

Legislation said the day would have been replaced with Arkansas Day and reflect on the state’s rich history, national treasures, diverse cultures and more.
