11-year-old girl dies after being struck by vehicle in Sedalia, police say

SEDALIA, Mo. — The Sedalia, Missouri Police Department is investigating after an 11-year-old girl was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday afternoon.

Police received a report about the incident just after 3 p.m. at North Engineer Avenue and East Saline Street, a few blocks west of Housel Park.

Responding officers found the girl after she had been struck by the vehicle. Life-saving measures were attempted but the girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the girl is not being released at this time pending notification of family.

No information about the driver or the vehicle has been released.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Police are asking anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash to call 660-827-7823.
