Rare Library Kiosk Opens in Springfield

News

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A new library kiosk in Springfield is the first of its kind for Missouri and one of only 10 in the United States.

The ‘Library Express West’ was just installed at the Orchard Plaza.

It allows Springfield-Greene County Library cardholders to check out books, DVDs and CDs.

It can hold about 340 items, but if it doesn’t have what you want, you can always put in a request and reserve it to pick up at the kiosk.

The project is in response to residents on the west side of town wanting a library branch that was more conveniently located.

The Library Express West will open Wednesday, Feb. 6.
