SPRINGFIELD — The price cutter on east Division and Glenstone in Springfield will close at the end of this October.
President of Pyramid Foods, Erick Taylor, says after looking at store sales the company is making a strategic move.
By consolidating certain brick and motor shops in town.
Taylor says after acquiring Dillion’s Pyramid Foods simply had too many stores.
With the growth of online shopping, groceries now have to start investing into stores with certain amenities like better location and parking.
Price Cutter employees are being offered jobs at other stores in Springfield.
Taylor also said groceries aren’t going away, they’re just changing, and the same thing is happening to other groceries like Walmart and HyVee.
