SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The jury trial for a former Stone County jailer charged in a fatal hit-and-run in Springfield is moving ahead as scheduled.

During a court appearance this week, Judge David Jones set a March 1 pre-trial conference for 41-year-old Shawn Bouley of Reeds Spring. His jury trial date is March 5.

Bouley is facing a single felony count of leaving the scene of an accident causing physical injury, for allegedly hitting a pedestrian with his vehicle at the intersection of National Avenue and Cherry Street on January 22nd, 2016.

The victim, 45-year-old Bradley Bizzle of Springfield, died at a local hospital.

Bouley reported the incident to Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader, who contacted Springfield Police the next day.

Bouley told investigators he knew he hit something, but didn’t stop because he had been drinking and was scared.

Police seized Bouley’s car and sent evidence to the state crime lab for examination.
