Pool Schedule Changes and Cooling Centers Available Due to Heat Advisory

SPRINGFIELD, Mo- The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the area for the next couple days and to help keep people cool the Springfield-Greene County Park Board will be adjusting pool hours and offering cooling centers. 

For their pools, they are planning to keep at least one outdoor pool open late during Heat Advisories, including: 

Wed., June 27, Westport Pool, 3100 W. Mt. Vernon Ave., open until 8 p.m. 

Thurs., June 28, Silver Springs Pool, 1100 N. Hampton Ave., open until 8 p.m.

And for their cooling centers, all three Springfield-Greene County Park Board Family Centers, as well as Mediacom Ice Park, will open their lobbies as free public cooling centers during Heat Advisories. All lobbies have seating, restroom access, and air conditioning. 

Family Center locations and lobby hours are:

Monday-Friday, 5 a.m.- 10 p.m.

Saturday, 7 a.m.-8 p.m.

Sunday 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.

Doling Family Center, 301 E Talmage Ave., 417-837-5900

Mediacom Ice Park’s location and lobby hours vary, but are generally:

Daily 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

And the skate park hours are:

Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 5-9 p.m.

Friday, 7-11 p.m.

Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m., 7-11 p.m.

Closed Monday
