UPDATE: Calls to 9-1-1 and long distance lines in Polk County are still down.
9-1-1 calls continue to be answered by the Greene County 9-1-1 service as work continues to repair a cut in fiber optic lines on Wednesday.
A Greene County dispatcher told OzarksFirst this morning that latest information indicates that AT&T is working on the repair, but cannot provide an estimate for when those repairs will be complete and service restored.
Calls from landlines to other county offices in Bolivar also are not being answered this morning. A recording states that “All circuits are busy. Please try your call later.” This is due to the long distance lines being down.
If you need to reach city and county offices, you can call using a cell phone and the call will go through.
POLK COUNTY, Mo. – Polk County Central Dispatch posted a message on their Facebook page saying the 911 lines and long distance lines are currently down.
The message, from Director Sarah Newell, also reads, ” It appears there has been a fiber cut between Bolivar and FairPlay. We have several agencies working on this and we will keep you posted. All calls are being answered. 911 is being answered by Greene co dispatch and Mercy Dispatch. They are giving the information to us via radio for the dispatch of units. Thank you for your patience during this time… everyone is in good hands.”
