Police conducting death investigation of 19-year-old Mizzou student

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KRCG) – The University of Missouri Police Department stated it was investigating the death of a 19-year-old student who was found unresponsive in his residence hall room.

A release stated Boston Perry, a junior from Bethalto, Illinois, was found not breathing in his room at Mark Twain Hall Tuesday afternoon at 2:30.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the cause of death has not been determined.

“As a father myself, I can only express my deepest condolences to Boston’s parents and family,” Gary Ward, vice chancellor for operations, said in a release. “Our thoughts are with them, his friends and classmates during this difficult time.”

Counseling has been provided to students and others who knew Perry, who was majoring in information technologies in the College of Engineering. Those seeking assistance have been encouraged to contact the MU Counseling Center at 573-882-6601.
