Phelps County searching for man who fled on foot


PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. – The Phelps County Sheriff’s Department is urging residents to lock their cars and doors while police search for a man who fled on foot after a traffic stop.

According to the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page, police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and had probable cause to search the vehicle where they found several different drugs.

During the search, Gabrial Montano, 38, from Arizona, fled on foot.

Montano is described as a Hispanic male, age 38, 5’5″, and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark sweatshirt, and a multi-colored t-shirt.

Montano has numerous tattoos on his arms. He was last seen heading north-east from the 100 block of Doolittle Outer Road on the north side of Interstate 44 near Doolittle.
