Ozarks Tonight: Lawn Art With Neighbors


SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Lawn Art With Neighbors, also known as L.A.W.N., is a grassroots project in Springfield.

L.A.W.N. hopes to create a city-wide public art exhibit by having people get creative with their front yard.

The initiative is organized by the Springfield Art Museum, Sculpture Walk Springfield, and the Missouri State University Art & Design department.

Important dates:

  • April 13 – April 30: Build artwork
  • April 24: Participation Sign Up Form due. Your form must be turned in by April 24 to be included in the map.
  • April 25: International Sculpture Day. Post photos of you working on your artwork on social media using #ISDay2020 and #LAWNSGF.
  • May 1 – 10: First Friday Art Walk / L.A.W.N. Public Viewing. Have your work completed and on view no later than May 1 at 10 a.m.
  • May 10: Official end of L.A.W.N. events.
  • May 11: Feel free to take down your artwork at your convenience. If your work adheres to your neighborhood association policy, leave it up indefinitely.
