Ozarks Tonight: HOLA Springfield

Make It Count

In this Ozarks Tonight, Jenifer Abreu talks to Dr. Lina Gomez and Yolanda Lorge about a new radio program at Drury University.

It’s called HOLA Springfield and highlights the Latino community in the Ozarks. It airs every last Saturday of the month on KDRU, 98.1 FM at 11 a.m.

The show is produced by students in the communication department, who get to work on the skills they are learning in the classroom.

The second episode is coming up on April 27 and will be about Cinco de Mayo, its meaning, and significance.

Dr. Gomez is an assistant professor in the Department of Communications at Drury University. She is the host of the show.  Dr. Gomez is one of only three Latino professors at Drury right now.

Yolanda represents Grupo Latinoamericano in this partnership. She was the guest of the first episode of HOLA Springfield.

The show is made possible by a grant from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.
