Ozarks Tonight: Hidden Identities

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Dr. Linda Trinh Moser explains what “Hidden Identities.”

Dr. Moser is a literature professor at Missouri State University. She researches representations of identity and uses literature to explore this topic.

In a video posted by MSU as part of its “Mind’s Eye” series, Dr. Moser says we perform many roles – changing our identities depending on each situation.

She says she’s fascinated by how authors convey ethnicity, culture, and race. In this Ozarks Tonight interview, she talks about why she explores these topics and how learning about “hidden identities” relate to and impact real life.

Dr. Moser says the authors she reads in her classes are “not trying to promote a singular version of their culture.”
