Ozarks Tonight: Sparta students embark on a culinary adventure

Ozarks Politics

Some aspiring student chefs in Sparta are about to embark on a culinary adventure. The Culinary Club at Sparta High School is taking an educational trip to Washington D.C. next month. While there, they’ll tour our nation’s capital, get a behind the scenes look at a restaurant, and also take professional culinary classes.

The students have spent a year raising the money to go on the trip. They’ve baked cupcakes from scratch and sold them during school events, but they’re still a little shy of the money needed to go. Their story has inspired local restaurant owners to help.

An all you can eat pancake breakfast is being hosted at Bric’s Waffle House in Ozark Saturday (June 15) from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Tickets are $7. All proceeds will benefit the Sparta Culinary Club.
