Missouri voters could see alternate redistricting plan on the ballot

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — A Missouri House Committee approved an effort to send an alternative redistricting plan to Missouri voters today.

The bill can now head to the full House for debate.

If approved, it would head to the ballot for voters to decide.

In 2018, Missouri voters approved what was known as Clean Missouri.

The constitutional amendment puts an emphasis on creating politically competitive districts.

Republicans believe it could result in splitting up districts with similar interests.
