Overnight storms leave many without power

UPDATE (12:00 pm) City Utilities said approximately 1900 customers remain without power. The majority of the outages are in the central-east portion of Springfield.

Crews are continuing to work on restoring power.

UPDATE( 8:30 am): Three high voltage transmission were damaged by the storms overnight. One of them being near Campbell and Plainview, crews are working to restore power in the area but it is expected to be the most difficult repair.

City Utilities said in a release as of 8:30 Monday morning, approximately 2,300 CU electric customers remain without service.

SOUTHWEST MISSOURI – A line of strong to severe storms pushed through the Ozarks Sunday night bringing down trees and power lines.
