One Teenager and Two Others Killed in Car Accidents Across the Ozarks


TANEY COUNTY, Mo- There were three fatal car accidents that occurred Monday, one person from each crash has died.

In Taney County, there were two fatal crashes.

The first happened Monday evening around 5:40 p.m. on MO highway 76 about eight miles east of Branson.

 According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report page, a pickup truck hit a 2003 Chevrolet Express van then traveled off the roadway and hit a tree.

The occupant, 23-year-old Emilio Millan Pineda, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver is currently in serious condition.

The other crash in Taney County happened Monday night around 10:30 p.m. on Highway M, about a mile and a half southeast of Kissee Mills.

Highway Patrol says the crash occurred when a 2002 Mini Cooper went off the road and hit a tree.

The driver, 18-year-old Paola M. Morales, was pronounced dead at the scene. She had one passenger with her, they have moderate injuries. 

Another crash happened Monday in Douglas County near Ava.

The crash report states that the accident happened Monday morning around 10:20 on MO RT 76, four miles west of Ava.

The accident occurred when a pickup truck ran off the roadway, struck a culvert, crossed the roadway and ran off roadway striking trees and overturning ejecting the driver.

The driver, 23-year-old David Penn, was pronounced dead at the scene. He had a passenger that had minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
