North Johnston Shooting Victim Dies in Hospital


SPRINGFIELD, Mo. –  A Springfield man has died after being shot at the end of last month.

Jamie L. Carroll, a 45-year-old male from Springfield, required immediate surgery upon arrival at the hospital. Carroll had been in critical condition since that time and on March 6, 2019, Carrol died from his injuries at a local hospital.

On February 21, 2019, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Springfield Police Officers were dispatched to N. Johnston after a 911 caller said a person had been shot at the location.

The suspect was identified as Keeton H. Waring, a 31-year-old male from Springfield. Waring was arrested by Springfield police officers on February 27, 2019. 

Since the time of his arrest, Waring has been held in the Greene County Jail for first-degree assault with a $250,000.00 bond. Detectives will be presenting charges of second-degree murder to the Greene County Prosecutor.
