Nixa Police Bust Marijuana Growing Operation

NIXA, Mo. — Nixa Police seized a large marijuana bust Oct. 27, two were arrested during the investigation.

Shirley and Steven McMullen were arrested after being connected to the growing operations of the marijuana, according to a press release from the Nixa Police Department.

The police siezed an estimated 25 pounds of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia after executing a search warrant at 210 W. Walnut St.

 “It’s been a lot of years since we’ve shut down a marijuana growing operation of this size,” says Nixa Police Chief Jimmy Liles. “It may not be a lot compared to industrial growing operations, but it’s pretty significant for our department. I’m proud of our officers and investigators who worked this case to get these drugs out of the community.”

Steven and Shirley were both charged with Class C felonies. Shirley was also charged with a Class D misdemeanor.
