Nexstar Broadcasting’s Commitment to Community

News

Today, June 17, 2016,  marks twenty years of operations for our parent company, Nexstar Broadcasting. To celebrate, employees from 104 Nexstar television stations across the country are taking part in the inaugural Nexstar Founder’s Day Of Caring.

Employees have been volunteering all day at local organizations in hopes to reach an ultimate goal of 20,000 hours of community service.
For each hour of service donated, Nexstar will be matching and donating $1 to the organizations.
We spoke with Brain Jones, Nexstar’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer about the inaugural event and what it means to him.

“We talk about in our business life about being a local service business and that every one of our single markets is a local business just like the dry cleaner or just like any local business.  But today, on the Founder’s Day Of Caring, we are not only a local service business but we are committing service to the local communities.  And I’m just very proud to be a part of it and hope that we can get some good done today and that we’ll be back next year doing the same thing.”

KOLR10 was proud to team up with Habitat for Humanity and the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri in giving back to our community.
