New V.A. Clinic Holds Ribbon Cutting, Grand Opening

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — This morning the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the new V.A. Clinic on West Republic Road was held with the mayor in attendance.

Thousands of veterans around Southwest Missouri and Northern Arkansas are expected to be treated at this location.

The clinic will offer a number of services in this new location including primary care, mental health, dental help, radiology and much more.

This new facility will replace the clinic in Mount Vernon, with additional plans to build another location in Joplin. Director Kelvin Sparks says this organization benefits the community as well.

“We’re also pleased to announce that we’ve added 69 new job opportunities for this community, and as we continue to grow, we’ll be adding more to provide service and access standards to our veterans who have earned and deserved it,” Sparks said.

This clinic is 68,000 square feet — 33,000 more than the facility in Mount Vernon.
