SPRINGFIELD, Mo.–Portions of the Cruse Dog Park in Springfield are closed as workers install a cool new feature.

The City Park Board is installing two new ten by ten-foot shade structures.

One will be in the small dog side of the park another for the big guys.

The structures are being funded by the Cruse Dog Park fund, with money raised through special events.

The new shade should provide some added comfort for visitors, and their k-nine friends.

“Not having a lot of shade makes it uncomfortable for the owners during the hot months,” said Jon Carney with the Springfield-Greene Co. Park Board

Cruse dog park is the first “unleashed” park in Springfield. It opened back in 2008.
