New Charges for Turpin Parents

CALIFORNIA – The California couple accused of abusing their 13 children are facing new charges on top of dozens of counts including torture and false imprisonment.

Three new child abuse charges were added to the list.

Their children range in age from 2 to 29.

Prosecutors say the siblings were kept in captivity for years. Beaten, starved and occasionally chained to furniture.

They are all being cared for in separate facilities now, learning about this new world that has been brought into their lives.

“Understanding they do have rights and they do have a voice. And that people are going to listen to them,” Jack Osborn says. “Introducing them to different foods too so they’ve been getting tacos, enchiladas, lasagna and things like that. It’s been really exciting.”

The couple has been held on $12 million bail each since they were arrested last month.

More than half a million dollars has been donated from around the world to help the Turpin children.
