National Guard comes to Jefferson City to help with storm damage

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Governor Mike Parson has activated the Missouri National Guard to help with flooding and storm damage clean up.

Monday, Parson signed an executive order to send guard units to support Chariton County, to reinforce a stressed levee near Brunswick.

The guard will also help flood response in Jefferson City.

Senator Roy Blunt will be in Jefferson City today to survey the damage from the EF3 tornado that came through there  last week.
